What is Lido?
Lido is the leading liquid staking protocol on Ethereum. It allows users to stake ETH without locking up liquidity, minting stETH—an ERC-20 token that represents a user’s staked ETH.
Because stETH is freely transferable, holders can exit their exposure more flexibly than with traditional staking or use staked ETH as collateral across DeFi, while still earning staking rewards. stETH is widely integrated across the Ethereum ecosystem, including major lending, trading, and yield protocols.
Lido’s mission is to make Ethereum staking accessible, decentralized, and capital-efficient, enabling both individuals and institutions to help secure the network without running their own validator infrastructure. This is achieved through a decentralized set of professional node operators and transparent, on-chain smart contracts.
